Mum, it's your birthday today and it's heart-breaking that you are not here with us. This time last year you were in Queen's Court and you didn't want to celebrate your birthday until you came home - but the nurses decorated your room with balloons and brought a cake and sang happy birthday to you - so you ended up having 2 birtdays last year. You are missed more than anyone in the world has ever been missed. Nothing is the same without you. But you have shown us how to be strong, Julie and I, and the rest of the family, idolise you and take our strength from yours. We want to make you proud of us, and we know that while we are alive and your memories are alive in us, your goodness will go on. Love you so much, and so proud that you were our mum. x
